Pick City is a small community close to the shores of Lake Sakakawea, and is known for some of the best fishing, recreation and hunting in North Dakota.

Pick City came into existence in the late 1940’s and early 50’s with the construction of the Garrison Dam. It is named for the Pick-Sloan Bill, which authorized legislation for the construction of the Dam.

Pick City is just minutes away from the Garrison Dam, Lake Sakakawea and Lake Sakakawea State Park. This area offers excellent salmon, northern pike, walleye, small mouth bass and trout fishing. We also have some of the best goose, pheasant, partridge and grouse hunting in the fall.

Our businesses and residents in Pick City welcome everyone to come here and have a good time. Contact City Hall at 487-3327 or visit our web site at www.pickcitynd.com for more information.
